A Chess Tournament was organized in the name of Martyr Teacher Necmettin Yılmaz by Artvin Çoruh University Health Culture and Sports Department Chess Society. Dr. was the Chief Referee in the tournament held in the Central Campus cafeteria. Lecturer See. Turan Aksakal and Chess Society President Tuna Kışlacıklıoğlu served as referees. The tournament was organized in two different categories: girls and boys. Aksakal stated that the tournament was organized in order to popularize the sport of chess among students, to make it widespread and to increase interest in chess sport. Aksakal said, "Those who rank in the girls and boys categories in the tournament, in which 12 athletes participated, will take part in the chess team of our University." said. 

Community Advisor Dr. to our students who achieved success in the tournament. Lecturer See. Medals and certificates of participation were given to all participating athletes by Turan Aksakal and Department of Health, Culture and Sports Branch Manager Murat Yıldız.
